THE LEONARD C. GOLDMAN ('59) DISTINGUISHED SENIOR AWARD

Background: In 2000, the Castleton State College Alumni Association established the "Senior Class Unity Award." The Alumni Association is committed to contributing to our society's future by transmitting the tradition of leadership to its students, who are tomorrow's citizens, and leaders. In 2006 it was renamed the Leonard C. Goldman ('59) Senior Class Unity Award, and in 2007 it was renamed the Leonard C. Goldman ('59) Distinguished Senior Award.

Purpose: This award is presented annually by the CSC Alumni Association in recognition of a member of the senior class who best exemplifies the qualities of leadership, spirit, and service to the college community and beyond.

Eligibility: Candidate must be enrolled as a senior during the 2009-2010 academic year, working towards their bachelor's degree, and either has graduated in December, 2009 or is expected to graduate in the spring of 2010.

Nominator: Nominator may be a CSC administrator, faculty or staff member, or a member of the current graduating class.

AWARD: The student selected for this award will be recognized and presented with a $1,000 gift at this year's commencement by the CSC Alumni Association Board President.

Deadline: Nomination forms may be picked up at the Alumni Office in Woodruff Hall beginning on Monday, February 22nd, or downloaded from the college web site. (www.castleton.edu then click on "Alumni", then scroll down to the award). Completed nomination forms must be returned to the Alumni Office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2.

NOTE: ALL nominations must be computer generated or typewritten. (No handwritten nominations). The selection committee is very interested in making sure we have a full picture of the candidate's strengths and experiences here at Castleton. Please be sure to include enough in your nomination to show the true character of the individual you are nominating. Please be very specific and avoid generalities.
